abc 7 news starts right now with live breaking news. >> and that breaking news, tonight is out of richmond. westbound 580 is shut down after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a car. officials don't know what the man was doing on the freeway. good evening and thank you for joining us. just one day after a fatal shooting at l.a.x. a scare at sfo. police board a plane and escort a passenger off a jetblue flight. this is video you'll only see on abc 7 news. it began on a flight from long beach to sfo. abc 7 news reporter nick smith is live with the latest. >> reporter: a security concern that threatened the nature of

the aircraft forced a flight to be delayed, a passenger to be removed from the plane and arrested for being drunk and disorderly in public. tonight, the video that you'll see only on abc 7 news. >> he said the plane is going to go down, this plane is going to be destroyed. >> reporter: that's what one passenger told us he overheard a man near him scream above jetblue flight 1136. >> he said it so loud in volume he got my attention. >> reporter: abc 7 news spoke with patrick alexander who caught parts of the moments on his smartphone. >> my hand was shaking and i wa nervous the entire time. >> reporter: the flight was en route to sfo from long beach. as soon as the flight crew was aware of the threat, the airport security met the plane when it landed. the officers board the plane and immediately identify and escort

the man off the plane. >> and maybe the threat is still on the plane and they took him off the plane and the rest of the passengers had to stay on board. >> reporter: the flight was delayed 45 minutes. officials have not identified the passenger. at sfo, nick smith, abc 7 news. this is a live look at l.a.x. where the pylons are lit blue in honor of the tsa officer killed yesterday. gerardo hernandez is the first official to be killed in the line of duty. tonight we are learning more about the suspect, paul police believe someone dropped him at the airport on friday and police want to know who that is. >> reporter: federal prosecutors are filed murder charges against the suspected gunman in the deadly shooting of tsa officer

chase the suspect through terminal 3. >> the fact they disabled this assailant within minutes saved untold lives. >> reporter: ciancia is in the hospital. the fbi says he is unresponsive. the airport, a scene of fear and confusion friday morning ed to saturday afternoon. alex stone, abc news, los angeles. >> one of the people caught in the cross fire was a host of the tv series ""mythbusters." >> everyone was jumping over chairs and people. people were take cover. i mean, it was literally like my worst nightmare. and it was happening. >> "mythbusters" is shot in the bay area but he was heading from l.a.x. to a video shoot in

delaware. the shootings caused dozens of cancellations in the bay area. today eight flights to and fro l.a.x. were cancelled. be sure to check your flight status with your airline. ws ora county. six teenagers have been rescued after getting lost hiking. the teens got the top of the peak and lost the trail heading back. >> and we got on the wrong route and we tried to backtrack but then it started to get dark and we lost the trail and ended up in the field and called the cops. here we are. >> the regional park police got a 911 call relayed from fremont police. the teens were not so much scared as they were cold. friends and family of a teenager shot and killed by a sheriff's deputy gathered to thank the community for its support. andy lopez was shot while holding an air rifle that looked

like an ak-47 rifle. >> reporter: as candles were arranged and a cross was adjusted at the memorial, it was not lost on a few people here that this weekend marks the day of the dead. >> is it a mexican tradition to every first and second of november to come and celebrate the dead or your loved ones who have passed away. >> reporter: andy lopez's parents were here for a couple of hours. they did not want to speak on camera be. you they did say they will be in san francisco on monday for a big announcement. they will be joining their team of attorneys monday to announce a federal civil lawsuit against sonoma county sheriff's department. they joined 100 people for a potluck dinner. organizers say they have no intention of connecting the death to the day of the dead but

they want to support the family. >> we just want to remember andy. we don't want to talk about what happened but we just want to remember him. >> reporter: a family attorney says that the 13-year-old has not been laid to rest because his parents are waiting for his grandmother to arrive. she arrived in california just in time to join them for the event. one person was killed today after a car went off a cliff on highway 1. the car, a red honda had been reported stolen. the driver, who was killed, was the only one in the car. a fundraiser was held today to set up a trust for the only survivor of a family killed in a car accident in lodi. the nine-year-old lost his parents and four brothers and sisters including an unborn child on october 22nd. eden, who is still hospitalized will have access to the funds on

his 18th birthday. police are searching for a gunman who robbed customers at a hair salon today just before noon at the pampered girl salon in hayes valley. three customers were inside when the gunman burst inside taking money, smartphones and tablets. robberies are rare in 24 neighborhood. and daylight saving time ends tomorrow at 2:00 a.m. set your clocks back one hour to make sure you are on time on sunday. let's head to the meteorologist for a first look at the forecast. >> it includes wind. live doppler 7 hd showing you ge passage of a cold front. we are now on the backside of the system. and get ready for strong winds to develop overnight tonight. mainly, the higher elevations above 1,000 feet. and that includes the north bay,

east bay hills and mountains of the diablo range and that is in effect until monday at 7:00 in the morning with gusts to 45 miles an hour. right now the winds are pick up. gusts to 29 but still calm in the south bay with san jose 6 miles an hour. we'll look at our sunday forecast coming up. a 65-year-old man has been found after he was reported missing from an assisted living facility shut down this month. he was found friday. he was taken to the hospital to be checked out. the valley springs manor was shut down on the 24th. on the 26th, police found patients were cared for by only a cook and a janitor. the chronicle reported that the facilities owner had serious violations at other facilities which includes tying patients to their beds. in 1999 she was fined $860,000

my name is eddie metcalf. i enjoworking in my yard and you know, i can't. i can't do that any more,'cuz i'm missing most of my lung. they did a cat scan of my kidneys, no more kidney stones. that's the good news. "but, we found a spot on your lung." that frankly scared the "hell" out of me. i hadn't smoked in 22 years. how could this happen to me? he said, "well, you know about radon gas?" we'll... you know, i heard about it. he said, "well, the second leading cause of cancer" "in america is radon, 22,000 people a year die from this." i literally left the doctor's office, got a test kit, put it in my house, and our result was 39.8. the upper limit is 4. we got to get this fixed. that was on a monday, and on wednesday, our mitigation system was up and running. well, i think everybody should have their house tested. we'd never know. we'd still be living there. i could get another tumor from it. right now, it's changing my life.

minivan. the driver may have been medivaced from the scene. chp is on scene. and now we take you to washington state and some incredible video. this is the 520 bridge over lake washington in seattle. you can see the wind blowing the water over the roadway. the bridge moved as much as five feet because of the wind. the cars at the end of the bridge are.empty. drivers abandoned them. >> no, i don't seen have seen it to where people have abandoned their vehicles. he said he saw a light pole disappear and come back up. the bridge obviously had a lot of sway to it. >> the bridge was closed for two hours. the wind knocked out power the 200,000 homes and businesses. several trees were brought down, injuring two people, including a two-year-old child. a member of cirque du soleil

is recovering after falling off the wheel of death during a performance last night. this is video of a practice session. the show was stopped and the man was taken to the hospital. he is expected to be released in a few days. police in salinas is looking for someone who put lsd in a piece of halloween candy. authorities believe this small hole 2in that wrapper is where the acid was injected. she ate the candy and felt like she had an anxiety attack. it was given to her 16-month-old daughter. >> i shudder to think what would have happened to my niece. it would have been far too strong for a toddler. >> the women's symptoms were consistent with taking lsd.

and in redding, a mom going through her daughter's halloween candy pulled out a bag full of ecstasy. police are investigating who may have handed out the drug to children. election day isn't until tuesday but voters in san francisco can swing by city hall to drop off their vote by mail ballots. there will be drop off stations open tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., monday from 8:00 to 5:00 and tuesday from 7:00 to 8:00. a second b.a.r.t. labor union has ratified the new agreement. atu said its members approved the contract. sciu members approved the deal last night. it includes a 15.4% raise and safer working conditions and requires b.a.r.t. workers to pay into their pensions and increase health care costs. tomorrow is the final day to

a caltrans worker was hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver on friday morning. at san francisco international, police removed a man off a jetblue plane because of security reasons. a passenger told abc 7 news the man said, this man is going to be destroyed. the passenger was arrested for being drunk in public. at l.a.x. the 100 foot pylons are lit blue in honor of the tsa officer killed friday, gerardo hernandez is the first tsa official to be killed in the line of duty. the suspect, paul ciancia has been charged with murder. german officials say they would love to go to moscow and question edward snowden. germany wants to know how extensive the spying of the national security agency was. and berlin officials want snowden to show him the original

as an important step for getting on with her life. >> reporter: nadya davis was a political rising star in 2002. president of the santa ana school board, lawyer, daughter of an immigration attorney when she met the stateral at attorne general at the time. >> we could talk for hours. policy things and he had great stories. >> reporter: they married, settled in hayward and had a son. after bill became state treasurer he transferred money into her accounts. she won the election and spent a month in rehab. >> i admitted myself. >> reporter: that's where she met a san jose construction worker dealing with a methamphetamine addiction. >> i thought he was a genuine

person when i first met him and made the stupid mistake of believing i had to save him. >> reporter: nadya won the election for the supervisor, the high point of her career. but on the personal front, arguments with her husband led to an affair and her own addiction to meth. >> when did you start using? >> i was an elected official and i was a mother and i was a wife. and i made that deshl, bad choice. i'm responsible for making it. >> reporter: steve refused to be interviewed for the story and e-mailed me i have been completely clean and sober since january. i'm continuing on the path to rebuilding my life and made too much progress to bring up the past. when the smoke filled your lungs, was it clear to you that i'm in trouble?

this is addicting? i'md. >> thooked. >> that wasn't a thought in my head. i think i would have stopped. it was i enjoy this. i like it. and then -- >> reporter: was it a powerful attraction to it? >> it was immediate. >> reporter: nadya and bill began living apart. she tried to break up with her lover several times. he revealed he had a sex tape. >> did he ask you to concept to the tape? >> i would check his phone a lot to see if he had because he had recorded us before. >> reporter: bill found the copy of the sex video lift in the mailbox at their home. >> the pain that he must have felt. he asked if i was involved with someone and i said yes. >> reporter: the pressure continued to build until 2012.

someone was trying to access their bank accounts online and when bill questioned her she said it could be him. >> he said, why don't you go ahead and commit suicide knowing that i had become suicidal in treatment and was on the edge for those three months. it was the most devastating thing that i have ever heard come out of my husband's mouth. >> reporter: bill declined to be interviewed for this report. his spokesman said that he wouldn't get into the details but suffice to say they had a heated argument and they both said hurtful things they regret. after the argument, nadya left with their son, bought food from target and got a room at this hotel. late that night, her lover arrived. nadya questioned him about the plans to expose their drug use and their affair and he attacked. >> i remember waking up on the

floor and i couldn't move my body and i just like gave up. like i thought if i fought, you know, i would -- i was going to die. >> reporter: his attorney denied he assaulted her telling the l.a. times last year, i think she has issues and struggling. we are watching someone fall apart in the public eye. she suffered bruises to her head and neck and a concussion. because she worked for the droerng the doctor direct -- district attorney the case went to the state attorney general's office. they declined to prosecute. >> i'll never understand why they didn't prosecute. i have to accept it to recover. >> reporter: the alameda county d.a. said there were problems with the case. she invited him to the hotel room and called him and was an
